About this design
This science lab first birthday invitation turns a first birthday into a proper experiment, and it does it entirely in crayon. Hand-drawn artwork fills the card with beakers, bubbles, stars, atoms, and a giant outlined numeral, while the guest page carries the laboratory voice everywhere: a specimen card pinned to the page with masking tape and patrolled by wobbling corner molecules, a reaction-timer countdown drawn as four beaker cells with liquid that sways and bubbles that rise, lab notes that lay out the protocol for the day, and an RSVP panel sealed like a certified lab report. The paper itself is part of the design — a graph-paper underlay, a wax texture with the white gaps a real crayon leaves, and hard offset sticker shadows in blue, yellow, purple, and green keep every panel reading as a page from a kid's lab notebook. Typography pairs a flowing calligraphy name with a casual handwritten script and a chunky rounded display face, so the headlines feel lettered rather than typeset. Guests can tap anywhere to scatter crayon stars, atoms, and flasks from their fingertips, follow a fixed bottom nav between the specimen, the timer, the lab coordinates, and the RSVP, and reply with a simple yes, no, or maybe. The page stays alive at rest with rising soap bubbles, drifting molecule formulas, and twinkling stars, while the details, map, and directions remain crisp and legible for the adults planning the day. Perfect for a one-year-old's party, a science-themed celebration, a classroom science fair, or any family with a curious little scientist.

I managed to customize the invite during my lunch break and sent it out to the whole guest list ten minutes later.
