Their own channel
Guests with an email receive an email. Phone-only guests use text (US & Canada), with a one-time YES opt-in before updates arrive. Your name leads, as [your name] via InviteBird; guests who opted out are skipped.
One inbox
Message event guests with a venue update or a warm hello, sent to your whole list, an RSVP group or one person. Broadcasts reach each guest by email or opted-in text (US & Canada for phone-only guests); replies stay in private conversations with you and your co-hosts. Guests open their conversation from the personal link in your email or text, with no account or app to install. Shared-link visitors may need to RSVP first.

The inbox
Messaging lives on your event's Messages tab as a tidy inbox. Send an update to everyone, or open a single guest's thread and write just to them. Each conversation is private between that guest, you and your co-hosts — other guests can't see the reply or who received your broadcast.
How it works
Guests with an email receive an email. Phone-only guests use text (US & Canada), with a one-time YES opt-in before updates arrive. Your name leads, as [your name] via InviteBird; guests who opted out are skipped.
A personal link in your email or text opens the guest's private panel on the invitation. No account to create, nothing to download. Shared-link visitors may need to RSVP first.
Anyone co-hosting the event sees the same inbox and can answer questions right alongside you — the replies never pile up on one person.
Every guest reply lands in their thread and pings you by email and the desk bell, so a question never sits unseen until the morning.
The right people
The composer lets you pick recipients by RSVP status — everyone attending, everyone still awaiting, the maybes — or by any tag you've set, or one guest at a time. So the late-running-behind note reaches the people it's for, and nobody else gets a message that isn't theirs.
The best host answers the small question before it becomes a worried one. An open line is how.
Sent & reminders
Next to your inbox sits a running ledger of everything that's gone to your guests — the invitation itself (and, if you scheduled it, exactly when it sends), RSVP confirmations, reminders, broadcasts, thank-yous and any cancellation notice. Each line shows who it reached, on which channel, and its real status — so you're never guessing whether an update actually landed.

Common questions
No. Guests use the personal link in your email or, for opted-in phone-only guests in the US and Canada, your text. That opens their private conversation without needing to RSVP first, create an account or install an app. Visitors arriving through a shared invitation link may need to RSVP first.
Yes. In the composer, one tap selects everyone who's Attending — or Maybe, Awaiting, or Declined — and you can layer on tags or pick individuals. Send only to the people the message is actually for.
Once a phone-only guest has opted in with a one-time YES, your updates reach them by text (US & Canada). Each text carries a link that opens their private thread on the invitation, where they read the full conversation and write back — no account, no app. Replies happen on that page rather than by return text.
Never. Every conversation is a private line between the guest and the hosts. Guests can't see who else you wrote to or what anyone else said.
Yes. The Messages tab is shared, so you or any accepted co-host can send updates and reply to guests. Whoever's on duty keeps the inbox moving.
Yes. A communications timeline sits at the top of the Messages tab and lists every send for the event — the invitation (and its scheduled time), RSVP confirmations, reminders, broadcasts, thank-yous and cancellation notices — each with its real status: scheduled, sent, or failed. Nothing is invented; you see exactly what was recorded, including how many a message reached and how many failed.
No. Two-way messaging is part of your event on every plan. You message guests once your invitations are out, and there's nothing extra to buy.
