About this design
This hand-painted watercolour second birthday invitation puts a blue jay at the centre of the page — the bird perches on a large soft-blue numeral two, painted in translucent washes on bright white paper. The palette stays resolutely monochrome: cornflower, steel and pale sky blues carry every wash, feather and bubble, so the whole card reads like a page from a gentle storybook rather than a printed template. Around the art, the guest page keeps the same feathery world: a pressed-specimen frame with pale tape corners holds the card like a keepsake, feather ornaments sway at its edges, and a little blue jay arcs across the hero when the page opens. Section titles are written in a hand-lettered script voice — Nest Notes, Find the Perch, A Little Bird Told Us — while the birthday number itself is the page's co-headline, set large in a soft gradient of the card's own blues. A countdown of frosted glass cells counts the days, the details read like a nest manifest with feather-drawn icons, and the reply section closes the page as a deep-blue nest flanked by wings, with a feather seal that draws itself in. The design is watercolour through and through: paper grain, deckled panel edges and drifting feather petals keep every layer soft, light and hand-made.
