About this design
A hand-drawn wildflower bouquet — daisies, cosmos and field grasses gathered into a two-handled stoneware urn — is etched in fine sepia line work across the lower half of a cream sheet, with slender botanical sprigs trailing down the top corners to frame the text. A flowing brush script carries the word cheers above a hairline rule broken by a small drawn heart, and the honoree's name sits beneath it in a high-contrast engraved serif with the particulars stacked in wide-tracked capitals. The whole card is monochrome: one warm brown ink on cream, no second colour anywhere, which is what gives it the look of an old herbarium page rather than a printed flyer. It suits a milestone birthday with a gentle, unfussy register — a ninetieth luncheon, a seventieth afternoon tea, an anniversary open house — and it works especially well for an honoree whose taste runs to botanical prints and good stationery rather than balloons. The restraint is practical too: a single ink means long venue lines and longer names stay legible, and the open centre panel absorbs extra copy without crowding the bouquet. Sending it as a digital birthday invitation with rsvp brings the working parts along. Guests reply yes, no or maybe in a tap, and the answers collect in a live guest list you can filter, sort and export. You can gather meal choices and plus-one names as replies arrive, nudge anyone who has not answered, and open a shared photo album afterwards so the pictures keep arriving for weeks. A matching thank-you card carries the same bouquet and lettering into the follow-up. One hosting note for a milestone this size: put your reply-by date a full three weeks ahead rather than the usual ten days, because older guests are often arranging a lift or an overnight stay, and that extra fortnight is usually the difference between a settled headcount and a week of phone calls.
