About this design
This retro 70s 40th birthday invitation celebrates a milestone with the warm earth tones of the decade: burnt orange sunbursts, olive green wavy lines and mustard yellow lettering on matte cream paper. The bold condensed capitals carry the honoree name in the confident voice of vintage seventies signage, while the italic serif tagline softens it with a hand-written warmth. The matching guest page brings the sunburst badge to life as the page's signature motif: a breathing sunburst behind the hero, corner sunburst medallions on the card frame, sticker-style countdown cells with hard offset shadows, and a wax-like badge above the reply card. The countdown, details and location panels all wear the same retro sticker language, so the page reads as one designed object rather than a stack of cards. Hosts personalise the name, date, venue and message freely, while the 70s character stays intact whether the party is a backyard barbecue, a lounge night or a casual dinner with friends. The palette photographs warmly and suits both digital sending and printed stationery. A friendly, memorable choice for a 40th birthday or any milestone gathering where the dress code is simply come as you are. The card and page were designed together, so the digital invitation, the countdown and the reply card all share one warm 70s identity from first scroll to final RSVP.
