About this design
A monochrome editorial invitation for an eighteenth birthday that reads like a magazine cover story. The page opens with a masthead flag printed in letterspaced small caps, then a full-bleed cover treatment: the honoree's name set enormous in Bodoni Moda, the occasion decked in italic serif, and a soft outlined numeral ghosted behind the title block. The invitation itself sits as a framed cover plate with registration ticks and a caption strip, followed by an index of particulars with dotted leaders, a press-deadline countdown in ink rings, a letter from the host, and a spread section with a drawn map. The reply closes the issue as a tear-out card: the page's only ink plate, with a perforated tear line, a drawn RSVP seal that presses when touched, and a solid reply button. The palette stays true to the card — true black and ivory paper with hairline rules, dotted leaders and a subtle ink grain — so the page reads as one printed object. Every section carries a roman folio mark, and the bottom navigation uses a redrawn set of editorial glyphs rather than stock icons. The countdown ticks to the host's real event date, the reply card links straight to the RSVP flow, and the whole page respects reduced-motion preferences. A stark, sophisticated choice for an eighteenth birthday that wants the high-fashion register rather than confetti.
