About this design
This birthday dinner invitation is drawn in monochrome navy ink on warm cream paper, echoing the card's engraved letterpress register. The page opens with a letterspaced caps eyebrow, then the honoree's name set as an engraved plate — a high-contrast serif with a navy-to-ink foil fill, framed by two hairline rules that grow from the centre on entry.
The invitation card sits on a paper mat with a lantern tab above it that breathes softly, and drawn rope-and-anchor corners frame the page. The coastal vocabulary continues through the whole page: self-drawing wave seams divide the sections, the six detail rows carry drawn anchor-family icons at one stroke weight, and a harbor-glow atmosphere of soft fog and lantern light drifts behind the content.
The countdown runs as four dark navy chips with serif numerals and engraved caps labels, and the details, message and map sit in menu-card panels with a double navy top rule. The map block carries a drawn blueprint crosshatch with a pennant marker until the live map loads, and the RSVP closes the page with a navy button that breathes a soft glow, a warm reply line, and a script sign-off.
The page is mobile-first, fully responsive from 320px, and ships a reduced-motion mode. It suits an elegant birthday dinner, a restaurant celebration, or any evening where the host wants a sophisticated monochrome invitation. Guests get a live countdown, directions, add-to-calendar and a one-tap RSVP.
