About this design
This first birthday invitation is a bright, flat-vector keepsake built around one image: a yellow school bus with a big hollow numeral one, drawn in bold strokes over crisp white paper. The page honors that card faithfully, in its own voice. The honoree's name is set in large rounded caps in charcoal with a hard yellow shadow, the section headings in the same rounded family, and the body in a quiet rounded sans - a two-voice choir taken straight from the card's own lettering. Every ornament on the page is hand-drawn for this design: the card rides in a bus-window frame with a slowly rotating wheel, a road seam with a tiny bus draws itself between sections, the countdown cells wear the four colors of the card, and the RSVP lands on a full-yellow plate with an ink stop-sign seal. The palette stays inside the card's language - school-bus yellow, charcoal, sage green and white - so the page and the invitation read as one piece of paper. It is made for a first birthday with a bus theme, the kind of party where the rooms are full of toy buses, the playlist is heavy on the wheels-on-the-bus singalong, and the cake is shaped like a school bus with cookie wheels. The countdown counts the stops until the big ride, and the RSVP asks guests to hop on with a simple yes, no or maybe. The page includes directions, an add-to-calendar link and a live countdown for the date. A practical tip for first-birthday hosts: plan the party for the morning - toddlers are at their brightest before nap time, and a bus-themed morning party leaves the afternoon free for the birthday nap.
