On a baby shower event in InviteBird, Baby Shower Essentials lets you choose the games and keepsakes to include in your invitation and RSVP. Use each activity's switch to decide what guests see, then run the draw, quiz reveal and gift bingo from Event Day. Everything saves as you go.

They appear on baby-shower events (a baby shower or a sprinkle). If you don't see them, set your event's occasion to a baby shower.

For activity ideas and paper games before you choose your setup, see 25 baby shower games: classics and new ideas. The guide includes rules and a printable pack you can use alongside the built-in activities.

Who are we celebrating?

The suite starts with one short card: the parent's name, or both names; whether you're expecting, adopting or welcoming a baby through surrogacy; and whether the baby's sex is known, a surprise, or something you'd rather not say. Every game reads it — the quiz is called Who knows Jess best or Who knows Sophie and James best, the predictions only ask what fits your family, and nothing says "Mom", "Dad" or "bump" unless your answers do.

The games

Baby predictions — the classic guessing sheet, played inside the RSVP: the arrival day, the time of day, early or late. Weight, length and hair are asked only when you're expecting, "Boy or girl?" only when it's a surprise, and "Who will baby take after?" uses the parents' names. Every guess stays sealed.

At the shower, the big screen can show how the room guessed — the most-picked arrival day, the middle weight — without giving away anyone's card. Then, when the baby arrives, open the predictions and record The baby's here with the real stats: every card is scored, and the guests with the closest predictions get an email telling them they won.

Who knows the parents best — each parent gets a private link (one parent is fine too) and answers on their own phone. Guests guess, and only guests are scored. With two parents, the questions are about the two of you — who's braver about diaper duty — and the answers read as names, not "me" and "my partner". The big screen plays their answers, recorded or typed, one question at a time. See Who knows them best.

Gift bingo — for the gift opening. Every guest holds a card of things somebody might have bought; you tap each gift as it's opened and it marks on everybody's card at once. The squares come ready, so there's nothing to set up. See Gift bingo.

The diaper raffle

Diaper raffle — "please bring diapers" becomes the shower's prize draw. As guests reply they pledge how many packs they'll bring and see which size you need (choose from Newborn, Size 1, Size 2, Size 3+ or any size, and say whether wipes count too). Each pack earns a ticket with its own code. A guest who comes back to their reply sees their tickets and chooses whether to change their packs — nothing is trimmed behind their back — and a guest who changes their reply to no gives their tickets up.

Before the day you can run a practice spin that doesn't count. At the shower you draw on the big screen, and every phone lands on the same winner.

The keepsakes

Advice for the parents — instead of a blank box, guests say how they know the parents and get the question that fits. Someone who's a parent too gets "What do you wish someone had told you in the first month?"; anyone can write the line they'll need at 3am. Guests can type or record, and guests who reply no are asked as well. See Keepsake prompts.

Letters to the baby — guests write to the person this baby will become. The letters are sealed: nobody reads them before they open — not you, not the other guests, not even the writer. They open on the baby's 18th birthday, counted from the real birth date once you record it (until then, from the shower), or on a date you pick. On that day we email them to you, and the link inside can be forwarded. See Time capsules.

Books for baby — a note on your invitation page: "Bring a book instead of a card" or "Bring a book along with your card", with your own message. It's a note, not an RSVP step, so nothing is tracked.

What starts switched on

When you first open the suite before you send, the games that suit a shower start switched on: Baby predictions, Who knows the parents best, the diaper raffle, gift bingo and Advice for the parents. Letters to the baby and Books for baby are one switch away. If you send first, nothing switches on by itself.

What your guests see

  • In the RSVP — their diaper packs, then the predictions and a few quiz questions on one shared screen, then the advice question and the letter, then the final note.
  • On the invitation page — Books for baby.
  • At the shower — gift bingo on their own phone, and the draw, the quiz reveal and how the room guessed on the big screen, all run from your Event Day screen.

Anything you've left off, or haven't set up, never appears.

Common questions

When do the baby predictions get scored? When the baby arrives. Record "The baby's here" with the real stats and every card scores itself; the closest guessers are emailed. Until then the shower sees how the room guessed, not a winner.

We're adopting. Do the predictions still work? Yes. Choose "adopting" on the first card and the predictions ask about the day baby comes home instead of birth weight, length or hair.

Can I see what the parents answered before the shower? No. You see how many questions each of them has answered, and nothing more.

Can I read a letter to the baby early? No. Sealed means sealed until the day it opens.

What happened to Advice & Wishes? It's been folded into Advice for the parents, which asks each guest a question that fits. An event that already collected Advice & Wishes answers keeps that step until the shower is over, and the suite says so.

Do the shower games cost extra? No — they're included on every plan. You're billed by guest count, per Plans and pricing.
