Nothing warms a room like seeing itself on screen. The Event Day photo wall turns the kiosk (or a laptop plugged into a TV) into a full-screen slideshow of the party's photos — the ones guests are snapping right now, plus any you've added yourself.
The two photo tiles
When your event's photo gallery is switched on, Event Day gives you up to two tiles:
- Share your photos — always available with the gallery on. It shows a large QR code; guests point their phone camera at it and land straight on your event's photo upload page. No app, no account — they pick photos and send.
- Photo wall — appears once there's at least one approved photo to show. An empty wall would be a dead screen, so the tile stays hidden until the first photo is in.
How photos reach the wall
Guests' snaps don't jump onto the big screen unreviewed. Each upload gets a quick look from you first, and only approved photos appear on the wall — so nothing awkward ever flashes in front of the whole room. The wall keeps itself fresh while it runs, so photos you approve mid-party join the slideshow without anyone touching the kiosk.
Captions are shown when a photo has one; the wall never displays uploader contact details.
Running the wall
Tap the Photo wall tile and the slideshow takes over the whole screen. A small QR badge stays in the corner, so guests can keep scanning to add photos even while the wall is playing. Leaving the wall returns you to the tile grid — and if the kiosk is locked, the wall stays inside Event Day like every other view; the lock is untouched.
A lovely setup for receptions: run the kiosk on a tablet by the door for check-in, and open the same Event Day link on a laptop plugged into the TV, locked, showing the wall all evening.
What guests see on their phones
The photo drop is also on the guest companion page, so a guest who scanned the door QR can send photos from their seat all night. The kiosk copy says it best: snap away — the host gives every photo a quick look, then it joins the shared album everyone takes home after the party.
Good to know
- The wall shows approved photos only. If the wall seems behind, you likely have uploads waiting for review on your dashboard.
- The Share your photos QR works for anyone who can see it — that's the point of putting it on a big screen at your own party. The upload page belongs to your event and doesn't reveal the guest list or any contact details.
- The wall needs the gallery module on. If you never enabled the photo gallery for this event, neither photo tile appears.
Common questions
Why doesn't the Photo wall tile show up? Either the photo gallery module is off, or no photo has been approved yet. Approve the first upload (or add one of your own) and the tile appears.
Do guests need to install anything to add photos? No. They point their phone camera at the QR, tap the link, choose photos, and send. It works from the kiosk's QR band, the door sign, and their companion page.
Can I stop a particular photo appearing on the wall? Yes — the wall shows only photos you've approved. Leave a photo unapproved (or remove it) and it never appears on screen.
Does the wall update during the party? Yes. It refreshes itself as new photos are approved — no need to restart the slideshow.
Can guests still check in while the wall is running? On the kiosk, the wall takes over the screen — guests can exit back to the tiles, or simply check in from their own phones via the QR badge in the corner. Many hosts run the wall on a second screen instead.
