About this design
This hand-drawn doodle sweet 16 birthday invitation brings the party onto the page in blue ink and golden yellow. The card itself is sketched like a celebration scribbled on bright white paper: a balloon drifting top-left, a big five-pointed star top-right, wayfarer sunglasses down below, and confetti dots and spirals scattered around the edges — all drawn in crisp, playful line art. The guest page keeps that same sketchbook voice. The honoree's first name opens in a flowing hand-lettered script, a dashed doodle frame hangs the card like a party pass, rising hand-drawn balloons drift up the screen, and the countdown runs on a ticket strip with tear-line perforations between the days, hours, minutes and seconds. Even the details read like a sketchbook ledger: calendar, clock, map pin, envelope, sunglasses for the dress code and a circled P for parking, each drawn in the card's own line weight.
It is made for a sweet sixteen, but the design suits any milestone birthday, a sixteenth birthday party, or a teenager's birthday bash where the honoree wants something drawn by hand rather than printed by a machine. Because everything is digital, hosts can personalize the name, date, time and venue in minutes, and guests receive an online invitation with a live countdown, a map to the location, directions and an add-to-calendar button. RSVP is built in: each guest replies yes, no or maybe straight from the page, and the host sees the count without chasing anyone. Dress code and parking notes travel with the invite, so the details are settled before the balloons go up.
A practical hosting tip: the countdown makes the best use of a sweet sixteen by going live a few weeks early — teenagers check their phones constantly, and watching the days tick down on a hand-drawn party pass builds anticipation better than any printed reminder. Send the invite with the save-the-date details, then let the ticket-strip countdown carry the excitement to the day.
