About this design
This black-and-white Sweet Sixteen invitation is the editorial answer to the birthday party invite. The card keeps the palette to stark white paper and true black ink, with a casual monolinear script headline in lowercase and the honoree name set in wide-tracked sans-serif caps. The guest page extends that restraint into a letterpress proof sheet: the invitation sits on a debossed mat with self-drawing crop marks, a broadsheet masthead rules the top of the page, and every section carries a themed press kicker above its title. The countdown runs as an edition strip with an inked first cell, the details render as a printed manifest with a commissioned line-icon family, and the RSVP closes the page as the single ink plate — a registration-target seal and corner crop ticks frame the reply button. Black, white and paper greys only, with paper grain, rising ink dust and slow ink passes carrying the motion. A perfect choice for hosts who want a modern, typography-first, quietly sophisticated celebration page that pairs with any venue. The countdown cells run as a press edition strip with an inked first cell, and the details section reads like a printed manifest, each row carrying its own commissioned line icon. The page's only colour is the palette the card already owns: black ink, white paper, and quiet greys, so the finished page pairs with any venue a host chooses. Motion stays in the press world too — rising ink dust, a slow studio light, and ink passes that travel the hairlines — all of it reduced-motion safe. Guests land on a page that feels issued rather than decorated.
