Polls let you ask your guests a quick question and collect their answers right inside the RSVP. Turn it on, type a question with a few answer choices, and every guest taps one as they reply. You watch the votes add up on your dashboard — no separate survey, no chasing anyone for an answer.

Turning polls on

Open your event and go to the Ask tab — polls and custom questions live together there. Before it's on you'll see one card headed Ask your guests anything. Tap Ask a question to switch it on. The tab opens on Questions, and your questions and votes are saved even if you turn it off later.

Writing a question

On Questions, type your question and its answer choices — for example Pizza or tacos? or Saturday or Sunday? — and choose how guests answer: Pick one for a clean either/or (a classic poll), Pick several when more than one answer is fine, or Write an answer for an open box. Tap Add question and it's live immediately for anyone who still has to RSVP.

You can add more than one question, up to twenty in all. Your saved questions appear as a list you can edit or remove. When you already have three live questions, adding another asks "Add another question?" once — an RSVP with a dozen questions starts to feel like a survey — and you can go ahead anyway.

If you'd rather not start from a blank box, InviteBird AI sits just above the form and can suggest a pick-one question tailored to your event. Tap Add this to create it, then edit it like any other. Nothing is added until you choose to add it.

What your guests see

Your questions appear as one step of the RSVP, after the song step. If you've added several, guests move through them one at a time — Question 1 of 3, Question 2 of 3, and so on. After each vote on a pick-one or pick-several question, they get a brief peek at how the answers are trending before moving on — as long as Guests see results is on for that question (it is by default). Guests can skip anything that isn't marked required.

To see exactly what this looks like, use Preview at the top of the event page.

Watching the votes

On the Answers pane, each question has its own card. A pick-one poll shows a chart with a count and percentage for every answer; a pick-several poll shows how many guests picked each answer, out of the guests who answered. The Overview pane keeps the summary — how many questions and polls you have, how many are live, how many answers are in. The Ask tab updates by itself every few seconds while it's open.

Closing and hiding a poll

You can close a question when you've heard enough — a closed question stops collecting votes but stays in your list with everything already cast. Use Close answers and Reopen on the question, or Hide and Show to take it off the RSVP without losing its votes. Removing a question deletes it and its votes — that one asks you first.

Where polls fit

Polls are included on every plan and work for any occasion. Adding a poll has no extra charge; invitation sending is priced by guest count. They live only inside the RSVP flow, so a guest sees them while replying rather than on the invitation itself.

A poll has no right answer — it's a vote. For questions that do have a right answer and a scoreboard, that's the Quiz module instead, which plays during the RSVP, live at the party, or both.

Once your event has wrapped, the Ask tab is read-only: you can still read every answer, but questions can no longer be changed.

Common questions

How many questions can I ask? Up to twenty per event. We nudge you once you have three live questions because long polls start to feel like a survey, but you can dismiss the nudge and keep adding.

Can guests change their vote? Yes. A guest reopens Manage your RSVP, taps Change on the Ask row, and picks again — their new choice replaces the old one and your tallies follow. See changing a response.

Do guests see the results? After a guest votes on a pick-one or pick-several question, they get a short look at how that question is trending before they continue — unless you've set that question to Results just for you. The full tally lives on your Ask tab. Written answers are never shown to other guests.

My poll isn't showing up for guests. Why? A question only appears to guests when it's switched on, not hidden or closed, and — for a pick-one or pick-several question — has at least two answers. An enabled-but-empty Ask is hidden so guests never land on a blank step. Check that your question saved and isn't hidden, and use Preview to confirm.

Can InviteBird write the poll for me? Yes. The InviteBird AI suggestion sits above the form and proposes a pick-one question fitted to your event. It's added only when you tap Add this, and you can edit it afterward.

Will adding a poll cost extra? No. Polls are included on every plan. You pay based on your guest count when you send, as described in Plans and pricing.
