Trivia is a little party game about the guest of honor that guests play while they RSVP. You add a few questions — favorite food, how the couple met, the year they were born — with a few answers each, and mark the right one. As guests reply, they guess, and InviteBird scores it automatically. At the party you'll know who really knows the guest of honor.

This is the relaxed, answer-as-you-reply half of your Quiz module — As guests reply. The same list of questions can also be played live at the party on the big screen, against the clock. One list of questions, two ways to play; run either, or both.

Turning trivia on

Open your event and go to the Quiz tab. With both games off it shows a card headed A little party game — "Add a few fun questions about the guest of honor?" Tap Yes, add the game to switch it on and land on Questions. The list starts empty — write your own, or let InviteBird AI suggest a few. You can turn either game on or off later under Settings; your questions stay saved.

Writing your questions

On Questions, write each question and fill in its answers — two to six choices per question, up to 50 questions. Tap the circle beside the answer that's correct. A question needs text and at least two answers before guests are asked it; one that isn't finished yet is kept so you can come back to it, but it is not asked.

Don't want to write them yourself? Describe what you'd like in the InviteBird AI box and tap Write my questions — it drafts, you read them over, change anything, then Save quiz. Tidy my questions cleans up the wording of what you've already typed without touching which answer is right.

Changed your mind after guests have played? Fixing which answer is marked right re-scores everyone. If you reorder or reword the answers, guests' picks keep their position, so only do that before anyone has played.

On As guests reply, Preview opens the game in a new tab exactly as a guest meets it.

Choosing when answers are revealed

As guests reply has a When should guests see the answers? choice with two options:

  • Right after they guess — guests find out whether they were right on the spot. This is the most fun for a play-as-you-RSVP game.
  • Keep it a surprise — answers and scores stay hidden until you reveal them at the party.

If you pick Keep it a surprise, you control the reveal three ways, and they all do the same thing:

  • At the party, from the Event Day tab. Switch to Live and tap Reveal trivia answers. The kiosk's big screen and every guest's phone light up together within seconds. See Live moments on the big screen.
  • From the kiosk itself, using your 4-digit kiosk passcode.
  • From the Quiz tab: As guests reply shows Reveal now / Hide again, with a status line reading Answers are hidden or Answers are live for guests.

They all do the same thing, including lighting up the big screen. The moment you reveal, every guest who played sees their score.

Can a guest change an answer? Before the reveal in a Keep it a surprise game, yes — their last tap counts. Once a guest can see how an answer scored (a Right after they guess game, or after you reveal), their first answer on that question stands, so nobody can tap through the options until the tick turns green.

What your guests see

Trivia appears as a short step in the RSVP flow after a guest says they're coming. They read each question, tap an answer, and — depending on your reveal setting — either see how they did right away or a friendly "results revealed by the host" note. It's a quick, self-contained game; there's no timer, no lobby, and no scanning anything. Guests who'd rather not play can move past it.

The right answers are never sent to a guest's phone before they're revealed — scoring happens on our servers, so there is nothing to find in the page. A guest who looks at the invitation before replying can play, but their answers are only counted once they reply to the invitation.

Seeing who knows them best

Once at least one guest has played, As guests reply shows Who knows them best: the top five guests by right answers, then how each question went (how many picked each answer). Two guests with the same name are counted as two players. Your questions and every answer stay saved, so you can turn the game off and back on without losing anything. After the event, the top three also appear in the guests' recap if you've left the trivia podium on.

Common questions

How many questions can I add, and how many answers each? Up to 50 questions. Each question can have two to six answer choices and needs at least two filled in.

What's the difference between trivia and the live quiz? They're two ways to play the same list in your Quiz module. As guests reply (trivia) is played quietly by each guest as they reply, and you reveal the answers whenever you like. Live at the party is the Kahoot-style game on the day: everyone joins at once on their phones, races a countdown, and a winner is crowned on the big screen. Switch either on — or both — from the Quiz tab.

Can I keep the answers secret until the party? Yes — choose Keep it a surprise. Then reveal from the Live side of your Event Day tab, from the kiosk with your kiosk passcode, or with Reveal now on the Quiz tab. Guests see their scores the moment you do.

Trivia isn't appearing for my guests. A guest only sees trivia once it's turned on and has at least one question that's finished — an empty game is hidden so no one lands on a blank step. Confirm your questions saved (each needs text and two answers) and use Preview to check.

Will InviteBird write the questions for me? Yes. Tell InviteBird AI what you'd like and it drafts questions for you to read over, edit and save.

Does trivia cost extra? No — it's included on every plan. You're billed by guest count when you send, per Plans and pricing.
