Let guests send you a gift as they RSVP — straight to your own Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Zelle, or from your gift registries. InviteBird never handles the money.

InviteBird's Gifts & Funds lets your guests send you a gift as they RSVP — straight from their own payment app to yours, or from a gift registry you link. It's always optional for guests, never blocks anyone from replying, and the money goes directly to you: InviteBird never sees, holds or handles it.

Setting it up

Open your event and go to Gifts & Funds. For celebrations like birthdays, showers, weddings, graduations, anniversaries and retirements it's on by default; for other events, choose Set it up first, unlock when ready.

  • Message — a short, warm note guests read above the ways to give. Keep the tasteful default for your event type, write your own, or let InviteBird AI draft one.
  • Ways to give — your own Venmo username, PayPal.Me name, Cash App $Cashtag and Zelle email or US phone number. Add any of them; you can paste a full profile link and it's tidied up for you.
  • Registries — up to four links from any store (Amazon, Target, Babylist, Zola and so on). Paste the share link the store gives you, not the address of the page where you manage the list — if a link looks like your private editing page, you'll see a warning.

Everything saves by itself as you type. Co-hosts can set all of this up too.

The one-time unlock

Setting things up is free. Guests see your wallet links and registries once the event is unlocked:

  • $14.99, once, for this event — no subscription, and no cut of any gift.
  • Included free with the Open Sky and Horizon plans.
  • Only the event owner can buy the unlock; co-hosts see the same status and a note to ask the owner.

The Overview tells you plainly whether guests can see your gifts, and why not if they can't yet: switched off, nothing added, or not unlocked. Once an event has finished, its gift settings are read-only and the unlock is no longer offered.

What guests see

Guests who reply yes see a short, skippable gift screen at the very end of their RSVP, after their reply is already saved. The same options appear in a Send a gift section on your event page.

  • Venmo, PayPal and Cash App open your profile in the app on a phone that has it installed, or on the web otherwise. The guest pays you there.
  • Zelle has no link, so guests tap to copy your email or phone number and send from their own bank's app.
  • Registries open on the store's own site. The store handles the order, the delivery and any returns.

Good to know

  • InviteBird isn't part of the gift. We don't process, hold or refund gift money, and we can't see who sent what. Any question about a payment goes to the app or store it was made in.
  • There's no fee on gifts. The only charge is the one-time unlock above (or your plan, if it includes it).
  • This is different from gift cards. A gift goes from a guest to you; an InviteBird gift card is credit toward InviteBird purchases. See Gift cards and codes.

Common questions

Does InviteBird take a cut of my gifts? No. Gifts go straight from the guest's app or store to you. InviteBird charges one fee to publish your gift options, and nothing on the gifts themselves.

Can I see who sent a gift? Not in InviteBird — the payment happens in Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, your bank or the store, so that's where the record is.

A guest wants a refund. What do I do? Gifts are between your guest and you, through the app or store they used. InviteBird can't reverse or refund them.

Will asking for gifts feel pushy? It's designed not to. The gift option is optional, appears only after someone has already replied yes, and your message can make clear their presence is what matters.

Why can't my guests see my gifts yet? Check the status line on the Overview: Gifts & Funds needs to be switched on, have at least one wallet link or registry, and be unlocked for the event.
