InviteBird takes payment when you send an event or buy an add-on. Here's how checkout, receipts, and refunds work — including exactly when a purchase can be refunded.

Secure checkout

Payments are processed by Stripe, a global payment provider — InviteBird never sees or stores your card number. You're charged once per purchase; there is no host subscription for per-event plans. Business plans are the exception: they are annual subscriptions that renew until you cancel.

Your receipt and invoice

The moment a payment completes, InviteBird emails a receipt with the subject "Your InviteBird receipt." The email confirms your payment, names what you bought and the event, and has a branded PDF invoice attached for your records.

If you used a gift card or coupon, the receipt shows the full breakdown — the list price, each discount, and the Total paid.

Finding past receipts

Every settled purchase for an event is listed on the event's Home under Billing, settled (Receipts). Each row shows the item, date, order number (in the form IB-YYYY-XXXXXXXX), and amount, with an Invoice PDF button that downloads the same branded invoice our team sees.

The refund policy

Per-event purchases take effect the moment you pay — your plan sends the invitations right away, and an upgrade raises your guest limit on the spot. Because the service is delivered at purchase, here is what applies:

  • Event plans, upgrades, and add-ons (photo pack, album renewals, keepsake bundle, unlimited nudges & reminders unlock): non-refundable once delivered, except where required by law.
  • Something went wrong on our side? If your payment succeeded but the purchase didn't work — for example, invitations failed to send — contact us within 14 days and we'll make it right, including a full refund where appropriate.
  • Gift cards: a completely unredeemed gift card can be refunded to the purchaser within 14 days of purchase. Once any of the balance has been redeemed, the card is non-refundable — the remaining balance stays yours and never expires.
  • Business plans: canceling stops future renewals; the period you've already paid for stays active rather than being refunded.

Approved refunds always go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. The full policy lives in our Terms of Service.

Common questions

I was charged but my invitations never went out. That's exactly what the 14-day make-it-right window is for — contact us with your order number and we'll fix the send or refund you in full.

I upgraded by mistake. Upgrades apply instantly, so they're normally non-refundable — but if the higher limit was never actually needed and you reach out promptly, our team will take a fair look.

Can I get a refund if my event is canceled? The plan fee covers sending the invitations, which happens at purchase — so a canceled event doesn't refund automatically. Reach out and we'll review genuinely exceptional situations case by case.

Where do I see what I was charged? Your receipt email and the Receipts list on the event's Home show every charge, each with its PDF invoice.

Who do I contact about a charge I don't recognize? Contact us with the order number from the receipt — a real person reviews every billing question.
