When you invite a friend to InviteBird, they get 10% off their first event. It's a simple, one-sided referral: your friend saves on their first purchase when they use your link or code.
Where to find your referral link
Once you've sent an event, a Refer & earn card appears on that event's Home tab. It shows your personal referral code and a Copy link button. Tap it to copy your referral link — something like https://web.invitebird.com/?ref=YOUR-CODE — ready to paste into a text, email, or group chat.
The card also keeps a small tally, so you can see how many friends have used your code.
Your code turns up in a couple of other friendly places, too — on the thank-you screen guests see after they RSVP, and in the footer of your shared photo album — each inviting them to "host your own" event at 10% off. So even guests who loved your invitation can become referrals.
How your friend redeems it
Your friend uses the code at checkout when they pay for their first event. They select Have a gift card or code?, enter your referral code, and choose Apply — the 10% comes off before they pay. It works in the same field as gift cards and coupons, so there's nothing special for them to learn. See Gift cards and codes.
The rules
The referral discount is designed to reward genuine new hosts:
- 10% off a friend's first event purchase.
- Once per new customer — each new host can redeem one referral code, ever.
- First event only — it applies to a first event purchase, not to upgrades or add-ons, and not to someone who has already paid for an event.
- No self-referrals — you can't redeem your own code, and duplicate accounts or other abuse void the discount.
We may change or end the referral program at any time. The full terms are in our Terms of Service.
Common questions
How much does my friend save? 10% off their first event. On a $49.99 plan, that's about $5.00 off before they pay.
Do I get a discount too? The current program is one-sided — your friend gets 10% off their first event. Sharing your link is how you help new hosts get started at a better price.
Where's my referral link? On the Home tab of any event you've sent, in the Refer & earn card. Your code is also on the post-RSVP thank-you screen and your album footer.
Can my friend combine the referral with a gift card? The referral is a coupon, so it comes off the list price first; a gift card can then cover the discounted remainder. Both go in the same checkout field. See Gift cards and codes.
My friend already has an InviteBird event — can they still use my code? No. The discount is for a new host's first event purchase, so it won't apply once someone has already paid for an event.
Why isn't my Refer & earn card showing? The card appears after you've sent an event, once your code is ready. If you've just sent and don't see it yet, refresh the Home tab.
Tracking your referrals
Your code now has a home: open Dashboard → Payments and find the Refer & earn panel. It shows your code and share link with one-tap copy, how many friends have joined, how many discounts have been used, and a recent-activity list ("A friend used your code · Jun 3"). We show dates only — never your friends' names or emails.
