Guided designs come with an AI helper that rebuilds the whole card around your event. You answer a few short questions, optionally add photos and a vibe, and InviteBird generates a fresh design with your names, date, and venue already in place. Prefer to fine-tune by hand instead? See The invitation editor.

How to open it

  • On the Design step, tap the Edit button (marked with a sparkle). This is the main way to personalize a guided card.
  • On the Details step, the Redo with AI strip at the top rebuilds the design using the details you've just entered.

If your design doesn't show an Edit button, it's a classic design — you edit it directly on the canvas instead of through the wizard.

The questions

The helper walks you through five quick steps, one question at a time:

  1. Who — the name that goes on the card (the guest of honor, couple, or family), plus who's hosting. Some occasions ask an extra question here, like a host family name.
  2. When — the date and time. You can type the time however you'd say it ("1 PM to 5 PM") or tap a preset, and set an optional reply-by deadline.
  3. Where — the venue or address, and an optional RSVP contact. Leave the contact blank and any RSVP line is removed from the card cleanly.
  4. Photos (optional) — add up to five of your own. We fit them into the card's photo spots and rebalance the layout around them. Skip this and any sample portraits are removed cleanly. Photos are shrunk on your device before uploading, so it stays quick even on a phone.
  5. Finish — Style notes (optional): describe the vibe, colors, or theme in your own words — for example, "neon bowling vibe" or "kids party." Anything the design should know goes here.

Name, host, date, time, and venue are required; photos and style notes are optional. When you're ready, tap Make My Magic and InviteBird generates the new card.

Tone that fits the occasion

The wizard reads your occasion and adapts. A birthday gets celebratory energy; a memorial gets respectful, neutral wording and a calmer prompt. Baby and bridal showers get their own framing (like "Baby's name" or "Bride's name") so nothing feels off.

Trying more than one design

Each time you run the AI, your previous versions are kept. On guided designs a History entry appears once you've generated at least one design, so you can look back and restore an earlier one — nothing you liked is lost. You can also use the editor's Restore an earlier version option (see The invitation editor).

After a redesign, hop to the Review step to see the finished card exactly as guests will (see Preview your invitation).

Common questions

Will redesigning overwrite my current card? It replaces the card with the new design, but your earlier versions are saved. Use History or Restore an earlier version to go back any time.

Can I add my own photos? Yes — up to five. We place them in the card's photo spots and adjust the layout. Skipping photos cleanly removes the design's sample portraits.

What should I write in Style notes? A vibe, a color, a theme — whatever you want the design to lean into, like "garden chic in sage and cream" or "retro arcade." It's optional.

Why doesn't my design have an Edit/AI button? It's a classic design. Those are edited directly on the canvas with the Text, Image, and Background tools rather than through the AI wizard.

Does the AI change my guest list or details elsewhere? The wizard's answers sync into your event details, but it doesn't touch your guest list. Review the Details step after a redesign to confirm everything reads right.
