Schools, PTAs, and universities get a standing 25% education discount on InviteBird. There is no code to enter and no form to file — the discount is detected from your account email and applied for you at checkout. There is a dedicated overview at /for/schools.
Who qualifies
The discount is on whenever your account email is an education address:
- Any address ending in .edu (for example
you@harvard.eduoryou@cs.school.edu). - The international .edu.xx forms, where
xxis a two-letter country code — for example.edu.au(Australia) or.edu.pk(Pakistan).
Other academic domains are not detected automatically — a UK-style .ac.uk, or a custom district domain that doesn't contain .edu, won't switch the discount on by itself. If your school uses one of those, write to info@invitebird.com and we'll help.
The check runs on the server against the email on your account, so the price you see is the price you pay — the discount can't be faked from the browser.
What the discount applies to
The 25% comes off the per-event pricing ladder:
- Event plans — the one-time charge when you send an event.
- Plan upgrades — moving an event up a size later (you pay 25% off the difference).
It does not apply to:
- Gift cards — those are sold at face value.
Everything a plan already includes — designs, RSVPs, seating, the album, day-of tools — is part of the plan, so the discount naturally covers the whole event. See Plans and pricing for the full ladder and Upgrading your plan for how upgrades are priced.
How to turn it on
- Create your account — or sign in — with your .edu email.
- Build your invitation and guest list, and preview everything free.
- At send, the checkout summary shows an Education discount (25% off) line, and your receipt itemizes it too. You pay the reduced total once.
That's it. There is nothing to apply for and nothing to renew.
It doesn't stack with other codes
The education discount and a promo code (including a referral code) never stack. When both could apply, checkout keeps whichever saves you more and drops the other — so you always get the bigger saving and are never double-discounted. Gift cards are different: a gift card is a balance that draws down after the best discount, so you can still redeem one on top. See Gift cards and codes.
Running many events
If your school or campus office runs events all year, an annual business plan may fit better than per-event pricing — every event carries unlimited guests, and albums stay live for as long as you're subscribed. Details are in Business plans.
Common questions
Do I need to email anyone to get the discount? No. It's automatic from your .edu account email — no request, no approval queue.
Will it show on my receipt? Yes. It appears as a line item in the checkout summary and on the emailed receipt and PDF invoice, with the amount saved.
I have a .edu email but don't see the discount. Make sure you're signed in with the .edu address (not a personal email), and that you're buying an event plan or an upgrade rather than a gift card. Still stuck? Write to info@invitebird.com.
